3, environmental function
Common environmental functions include temperature resistance, humidity resistance, salt spray resistance, vibration and impact, etc. Although these experiments are carried out in the form of the whole device, the surface plating layer is tested. When the surface plating layer cannot accept the temperature resistance, humidity resistance, and salt spray resistance, the product is unqualified, and other functions are still passed. Pointless.
①Temperature resistance. At present, the high operating temperature of the connector is 200°C (except for a few high-temperature special connectors), and the low temperature is -65°C. When the connector is in operation, the current generates heat at the touch point, resulting in a temperature rise. Therefore, it is generally assumed that the operating temperature should be equal to the sum of the ambient temperature and the temperature rise of the contact. In some standards, the maximum temperature rise allowed by the connector under the additional operating current is clearly defined.
